Weekly Reflection

This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions and progress. I started off strong, feeling motivated and accomplished as I tackled my screenplay. I managed to complete around 20 minutes of screen time, which was a big leap from my struggles in the beginning. It felt great to apply the knowledge I gained and create a basic script. I also dedicated time to figuring out each character, writing a page for each one to add depth to the story.

As I delved into editing and refining my screenplay, I quickly realized the importance of creating a flow throughout the story. I went back to each scene and made sure the language, dialogue, and actions aligned with the overall tone I wanted to convey. It was a hard process because it consisted of deleting unnecessary elements, improving descriptions, and keeping a well-paced script. I encountered challenges along the way, one of the hardest things was to delete scenes. However, I tried to stay consistent in making the screenplay cohesive and engaging.

This week hasn't been without its struggles. I hit a writing slump that left me frustrated and disconnected from my ideas. It was disappointing to think that everything I wrote was terrible. Pushing through felt like banging my head against a wall. I had to resort to revisiting my old material and salvaging what I could. The process was messy, and I ended up scrapping a bunch of scenes. However, towards the end of the week, I started to slowly come out of the slump. Despite the setbacks, I'm proud of the progress I've made and look forward to continuing my journey with renewed energy.

Overall, this week has been a mix of achievements, challenges, and setbacks. I completed my total hours for my senior project, which was exciting. I also focused on improving my dialogue by learning from my mentor and utilizing additional resources. It was satisfying to see my dialogue becoming more vibrant and engaging. As I move forward, I plan to dedicate time to editing, adding new scenes, and refining the screenplay.
